About Standout Designs
|
Welcome! Thank you for shopping with us.
Standout Designs offers exclusive home theater furniture direct to consumers. We standout from most other furniture companies - including some major American brands - because we build high quality, reasonably priced furniture here in the United States and we make it from genuine solid American hardwood. We use no veneer, MDF, or particleboard.
As highly functional television stands, our furniture consoles host electronics with ease through features like removable backs and discreet cable management. As highly styled furniture pieces, they aesthetically unite modern televisions with other room furnishings.
Join our mailing list to receive news about new designs, upcoming companion pieces, and special promotions. Should you have comments, suggestions or questions, please contact us. Our customers help design our products.
Standout Designs is located in central Pennsylvania, where great American hardwoods like Ash, Cherry, Maple, and Walnut grow in abundance in vast managed temperate forests. Our region also boasts one of the highest concentrations of woodworkers in the USA.

By combining local natural resources and local talent in a direct sales model, we can deliver attractive solid wood furniture at attractive prices.
Standout Designs traces its roots to Cabinet Industries, Inc., founded in 1946 by the late Joseph
Adler to build wood television cabinets for TV manufacturers. Known for quality, value and service,
CII supplied companies from around the globe with wood TV cabinets for nearly 60 years. During the first big screen era, the company built over 1 million CRT rear-projection cabinets for Sony and Toshiba.
In 2004, with new televisions no longer incorporating wood cabinets, CII began a pilot project to produce an original television console for underneath these new sets (the A/Viator). The positive market reception of this first effort gave birth to a new venture called Standout Designs.

- Original Designs. We engineer unique, distinctive, and highly functional furniture to enhance your home theater environment, not to simply hold your AV gear. You will find nothing like it anywhere else because only we offer it - direct to consumers.
- Superb Materials. We build our furniture out of responsibly-harvested genuine American solid hardwood. We use no MDF - even our back panels are solid wood. We complement the wood with top quality finish, glass, hinges, slides, and drawer pulls.
- Solid Construction. We construct Standout furniture using time-honored techniques, superior joinery, strong glue and screws. It arrives ready to enjoy, not assemble. With proper care, it will remain strong and beautiful for generations to come.
- Compelling Pricing. We have no fancy stores, glossy catalogs, middlemen, or huge markups. We do have local lumber and local talent. The result is solid wood American furniture that is as highly affordable as it is highly stylish.
- Fast, Affordable Delivery. We offer professional delivery for less but do not make you wait weeks for your furniture. Customers in nearly half the USA receive their furniture orders in just a few days, many next day.
Our direct approach extends to the language that we use to describe our products. We provide precise and detailed product descriptions, free of wordplays. You can trust that our words about our products are as genuine as the materials that go into them.
